Last week I started sewing the birthdaypressents for the twin boys of my sister. I decided to make them a pullover from fleece. So I went to Alkmaar city and bought 4 meters of fleece 2 in carrot orange and 2 in bright green. Than it was cut and mix time and I ended up with 2 pullovers that are green with orange accents and orange with green accents. I forgot to take pictures though….. shame on me. But they liked their pullovers and that is what counts! Firts thing my sister asked me: can you make me those pullovers with a zipper please? 4 VESTS to be made than! lol. I am getting payed for those so that is a good thing. I have started to save money to buy me one of these . They are expencive but I realy want one. So I decided to try and make bags and childerens clothings to sell so I can raise some money to buy me one…. yep this is going to be the plan but it will take me years….i know i know…lol
Then somewhere in the middle of that week i got the flue… no not the mexican but the normal season flue…. I felt terrible and had high fevers. than I had to bring my little prince in for his 1st mexican flue shot and he reacted horrible to it. he developed high fevers and became realy ill… i decided to leave the 2nd shot for what it is… we are not going back there…..ever again if it depends on me.
The bag I made a couple of weeks ago is almost finished, only a few hang and closing stuf to be attached and than that is fini as well…
I liked the idea the teacher had ( I made this during a workshop beginning of november ) but in the end I kept on making changes to personalize the endresult. I made a boxed bottom and some closing loops with d-rings. The whole thing is pink/red/white and I used all things that were in my stash anyway. So it realy didn’t cost that much money to make it.
Than after I finaly finished the pullovers last week, I started on the disapearing 9 patch quilt for my pince, I started this quilt when he was only a few weeks old…. he will turn 1 on the 5th of December. It will be a 1 person bedquilt, when he is old enough to sleep in a normal bed the darn dino-quilt will be finished… I hope… lol. It has lots and lots of colors; pink/purple/green/yellow/bleu/orange…. almost every color of the rainbow. I also need to get thinking about something quilty for my sis in law. She is deu the beginning of Jan. andthe little one needs to have something nice to cuddle up in…. just don’t know what… oh well.. it’ll come to me.
Than last friday I went on a surprise tripp to my sister, she turned 40 and didn’t know I was comming over. We had good tasty “limburgse vlaai” and on saturday I went home again ( with a detour because I bought some fleece for the vests and other nice couplons that were half price ). yep… that’s about it. nothing more to tell…. oh wait
This afternoon we ( hubby, princess, prince and moi ) are going to see SINTERKLAAS… google him and find out that the santa claus is in fact: SINTERKLAAS !!!! he gives pressents to little childeren rides on a white horse on the roofs of the houses, he has helpers called “zwarte piet” meaning something like black peter. ( they became black because they have to go through chimneys and there is a lot of black stuff in there ) Sinterklaas only gives presents to nice kids, he has a book with all the names of every child and wether they are nice or naughty…. Do you see the simelarity’s? hahahaha yes, we have Sinterklaas you have Santa claus…..sounds almost the same…. Anyway, we are going to visit him at hubby’s work today and I can’t wait to see my princesses face when she’ll see him… she is a strong believer!
Have a happy Sunday you all!

As of tomorrow, we will have 1 more little familymember to count… my dear little princess is getting a rabbit for her birthday. She doesn’t know it yet though otherwise she would be overexcited and sick.
Real life is catching up on me lately. Yes I do read a lot of blogs but seam to have turned my back on my own blog. There is just a lot going on in my life at the moment. I have been clearing out and cleaning up my house; Brought a lot of stuff to the second-hand shop so it will get a new life somewhere else. Also a lot of my clothing is packed in bin-bags and ready to be transported to Hungaria. Even my little princess decided that the poor kids in the Hungarian orfan-house could use a lot of her cuddly toys so they too went into the bin-bags and on transport to Hungaria.. Don’t I have a sweet girl or what?
The attic is slowly being transformed into my sewingroom. It is cleared out and all the stuff that is in there needs to find a definitive space…. we went to IKEA and bought cabinets to be used for making my sewing-desk. In these cabinets is space to put my books and magazine’s in. After that, we went to PRAXIS and bought a couple of tabletops made out of sturdy oak. I can’t wait to be able to go upstairs ans sew without thinking of the mess I have to clean up because we need the table for dinner!
Now that I have all my fabrics in 1 spot I can see I have way, way, waaaaaaaay enough fabric to last me at least 2 years worth of sewing. So I think I need to put an end to the buying of fabrics for at least half a year.
I also finaly found my 2 QIF projects I started almost a year ago, had a look at them and decided to make something else…. duhh well it at least means that I am still working on them and not forgetting it at all….
See? that’s why clearing out your house every once and again is good for you… you find your stuff again!
I am trying to read the book the davinci code from D. Brown but I hardly find the time to sit down and read, there is so much to do at the moment!
I love to read though and I realy hope I will get time for myself eventualy after my whole house is ready and done.
Today I bought a new quilt magazine and I like it, maybe I’ll get me a subscription, who knows?!
Oh yeah in my blog absence we went on a short holiday to Germany. We all loved it and even my husband thinks we should go back some day when the little prince has grown a bit. We went to the vinyard erea and ofcourse we bought a couple of bottles with white and red wine. If you ever get in the erea of the Moesel ( river ) go and buy yourself some of those white and red wines, they are fabulous!
Before we went on the trip I tried to find out if there was a quiltshop in town, I couldn’t find one.
Than I found a little shop selling selfmade bags, cousions lavendlebags etc etc . I asked if there was a good shop with quiltfabrics somewhere nearby and the nice woman behind the counter told me the way…. oh how my husband would have wanted her to shut up! lol.
I could not resist and had to have a look for my self.
The shop is in Traben-Trarbach and it’s name is “Handarbeitsstube Trasser “. It is a hobby-shop, meaning there is also other stuff beside fabrics. She has yarn for knitting and crochet, she has all kinds of things and I realy loved being there! The owners are such nice people! If you ever get to this store, tell them I said HI! okay?
As soon as the workbench is up and tested I will show you pictures of what is to become my realm….

Last Teusday, I went to visit the adoptive grandmother of my childeren. She gave me a bag filled with beans and a bag filled with red beetroods ( correct? ) and that meant I was bussy preparing it all for freezing! my fingers are some kind of pinky-collored and my soup-pan is green from the beens but I got it all done and now it is all in the freezer, waiting for the winter to arrive! mmm fresh and biological vegies… nothing can beat that! thanks again M & W !
In between the beans and the beetroots we went to a big playyard called lineaushof ( we meaning kid N, me, 2 sisters who are friends of kid N and their mom ) We had a wonderfull day and I even got a huge sunburn even though the sun wasn’t shining that much! The wind was blowing gently and I think that was the evildo-er…. oh well, we had a lot of fun and thats what counts!
We are halfway kid N’s summerbreak now and I must admit I long for the day she has to go back to school again. She can be a real angel but more often than not she is a huge devil doing stuff she knows isn’t okay… just 3 more weeks…. just 3 more weeks… just 3 more weeks…LOL.
Nothing to tell you about on the sewingfront, just a dress for the kid and thats all folks….to bussy clearing out my rubbish and cleaning the house.
Not that we are planing on moving but maybe I am cleaning not just my house but also my life… who knows?!
I am working on a couple of presents though… not going real fast at the moment, but still working on them!
blog you later

We ( mostly me that is ) decided I deserve a membership to a USA based magazine about quilting. I know there are several magazine’s out there and I am not sure which one to choose… I need some help here girls!
I want a magazine filled with gorgeous quilts and patterns, but I would like it to have some ideas and patterns for bags and other sewing stuff too…. and here would come some help in handy… Can one of you ( or all of you ) tell me which magazine would be great for me and if they accept membership from the Netherlands?
On another note ; something completely different so to speak…
I have been sewing up some tea-wallets lately, and gave a couple of them away to friends who were very excited about them! See? just a simple compliment can make ones day a-okay! lol
I’ve bought myself a mini photo-studio with lights and all. and now I am testing it. how does it work and what to watch out for etc etc.
I made a couple of pictures of a bunch of flowers that I bought myself last weekend - yellow roses and yellow and orange gerbera’s.
If the pictures are great I am thinking of making them into picture postcards and who knows, maybe I can send them somewhere in this world! who knows who knows.
Last year I won a Q.I.F. at http://asimplequilter.blogspot.com/ and forgot all about it when I got pregnant. I know I know, It is a bad thing to forget something like a Q.I.F. and I will make it up to the winners A.S.A.P. just have a little more patience with me please?!
I only remembered about it because Christine had commented on my previous post about the magazine I really wanted but isn’t available in the Netherlands….
She offered to send it to me in the package from the QIF… and well… I could kiss her for that! she is such an accomplished quilter! she is one of my favorite bloggers that I read every day! and Yes Christine, I would be so happy if you would send me the magazine! Thanks a Lot!
Christine has some awesome pictures on her blog of a granny-patch quilt she bought years ago on an auction… wowie it looks so stunning with all those fresh colors and that crispy white…. how lucky can one be to have such a marvelous find on an auction?!
I will put up some of the flower pictures later today, for now, have a great day and blog you later!
hugs
