Last week I started sewing the birthdaypressents for the twin boys of my sister. I decided to make them a pullover from fleece. So I went to Alkmaar city and bought 4 meters of fleece 2 in carrot orange and 2 in bright green. Than it was cut and mix time and I ended up with 2 pullovers that are green with orange accents and orange with green accents. I forgot to take pictures though….. shame on me. But they liked their pullovers and that is what counts! Firts thing my sister asked me: can you make me those pullovers with a zipper please? 4 VESTS to be made than! lol. I am getting payed for those so that is a good thing. I have started to save money to buy me one of these . They are expencive but I realy want one. So I decided to try and make bags and childerens clothings to sell  so I can raise some money to buy me one…. yep this is going to be the plan but it will take me years….i know i know…lol

Then somewhere in the middle of that week i got the flue… no not the mexican but the normal season flue…. I felt terrible and had high fevers. than I had to bring my little prince in for his 1st mexican flue shot and he reacted horrible to it. he developed high fevers and became realy ill… i decided to leave the 2nd shot for what it is… we are not going back there…..ever again if it depends on me.
The bag I made a couple of weeks ago is almost finished, only a few hang and closing stuf to be attached and than that is fini as well…
I liked the idea the teacher had ( I made this during a workshop beginning of november ) but in the end I kept on making changes to personalize the endresult. I made a  boxed bottom and some closing loops with d-rings. The whole thing is pink/red/white and I used all things that were in my stash anyway. So it realy didn’t cost that much money to make it.
Than after I finaly finished the pullovers last week, I started on the disapearing 9 patch quilt for my pince, I started this quilt when he was only a few weeks old…. he will turn 1 on the 5th of December. It will be a 1 person bedquilt, when he is old enough to sleep in a normal bed the darn dino-quilt will be finished… I hope… lol. It has lots and lots of colors; pink/purple/green/yellow/bleu/orange…. almost every color of the rainbow. I also need to get thinking about something quilty for my sis in law. She is deu the beginning of Jan. andthe little one needs to have something nice to cuddle up in…. just don’t know what… oh well.. it’ll come to me.
Than last friday I went on a surprise tripp to my sister, she turned 40 and didn’t know I was comming over. We had good tasty “limburgse vlaai” and on saturday I went home again ( with a detour because I bought some fleece for the vests and other nice couplons that were half price ). yep… that’s about it. nothing more to tell…. oh wait
This afternoon we ( hubby, princess, prince and moi ) are going to see SINTERKLAAS… google him and find out that the santa claus is in fact: SINTERKLAAS !!!! he gives pressents to little childeren rides on a white horse on the roofs of the houses, he has helpers called “zwarte piet” meaning something like black peter. ( they became black because they have to go through chimneys and there is a lot of black stuff in there ) Sinterklaas only gives presents to nice kids, he has a book with all the names of every child and wether they are nice or naughty…. Do you see the simelarity’s? hahahaha yes, we have Sinterklaas you have Santa claus…..sounds almost the same…. Anyway, we are going to visit him at hubby’s work today and I can’t wait to see my princesses face when she’ll see him… she is a strong believer!
Have a happy Sunday you all!

I have been cutting and sewing today yesterday finishing the quilttop of my red-block quilt and cutting and sewing shoe-bags for the adoptive grandma of my little girl.
I cut 2 but had just sewn 1 and wanted to know if the shoes would fit in…. they do as long as you put in low sneakers or shoes and not walking shoes ( and shoes that aren’t size “Huge” )….
So off to the drawingboard again and I made up a bigger pattern… cutting 2 and than run out of lining fabric… tjees the world is was against me today yesterday!
My husband made me get up early this yesterday morning, he needed me to drive behind him to the APK for his car ( some kind of anual check up to see if the car is “fit” enough to drive on the Dutch roads ) .
When it took them realy very very long to call with the message that he could pick it up, he phoned them himself…. and guess what? his car isn’t fit, it needs an awfull lot done to get back into shape, and you know how that is, having an awfull lot done will cost an awfull lot of money.
Just when I was planning on buying batting for a couple of quilttops that I have finished… how awfully mean can my life be at the moment?!

On another path, we went to the hospital this past Friday to have the “midway” ultrasound check up and now it is official, it is a baby and not an alien! It has everything and from everything enough, lol!
I still can’t believe that I am preganand again, I feel the baby kick and I saw “it” on the ultrasound but still… I have a baby in me.

I need those metal parts for bagmaking and can’t find them anywhere but online. I went to the market yesterday, hoping to be able to buy me lots and lots of bag-making metal parts but to no alas. I mean, yeah d-rings and o-rings are plenty available, but the darn things I want and need are no where to be seen or found…. which means I need to go online which is something I don’t like to do to often. The thing with buying on the net is that .. well… I am the kind of girl who likes to have the possibility to touch things before buying. I also thought of maybe recycle 2nd hand bags, cut of the metal parts and than break the bag down to it’s peaces to make my own pattern so I can reproduce it… however…. that would still mean I have to buy the metal parts online….. mpffffff.

Last week we went on a holyday, just 5 days away before my precious has to attend school and before the baby will be born… we went to Zeeland. No not Zealand but Zeeland. It is a province of the Netherlands.
We had a good time, lovely wether, good food, clean beaches…. and a couple of craft and quiltshops I couldn’t resist…lol.
In one of those shops I found leftover curtainfabric they used to show people their collection. It was only 1,- and 1,50 euro a piece and well…. they were realy cute!
So I bought a lot ( almost everything that was in the basket ! ) and in my mind I started to create things with it….. things meaning bags.
I also bought some farm fabric with matching flower fabric to create a baby quilt,  a crosstich kit from Vera the mouse and a stencil for quilting…. I let my money roll so to speak, and I loved every minute of it! lololol.
So on friday we went to my family in Limburg ( yes, another province of the Netherlands ) because grandpa Ruiver had his birthday on Saturday. On Friday though, he had surgery and had to stay in hospital till Saturday. This gave me the opertunity to go shopping for some fabric coupons and guess what?! They were half price!!! I bought me a couple of coupons with the lining of bags in mind and some pink colored weaved fabric with a coat for a little girl in mind. I also couldn’t resist a coupon with dalmatian dogs on it from disney.
So Saturday came and the friend of my late mother came home from hospital, we stayed till the afternoon and than went home ourselves. In the car my mind went in to overdrive and I started to draw out some idea’s for bags. So when we came home and had everything put away, the washingmachine tumbling and the precious in bed, I took out my drawingbook and redifined the idea’s I had about the bag.
I came up with a smaller size postmanbag kind of thing.  and on Sunday I just had to sew…
I had the pattern I had drawn and lots of funky colored fabric’s to experiment with and this is what I came up with:

And this is what I am working on at the moment….

Planning on putting these into my “shop”page on this blog as soon as  I am sure what I should charge for these bags.

Please feel free to tell me your thoughts on this bag thing I have going on. I made up this pattern myself, and am proud of this endresult.
