Hi there…
yep, I did it again, I got lost in the real world some how…. lol.
To many things to do, to little time to do it in… you know the feeling i think?!
I have been bussy with all sorts of rl things… Mt son turned sick with the RS virus and had to go to hospital for a day/night…. everything is looking good now though to my releave. The christmastree had to be put up… the ornaments had to be surched for…. the groceries had to be bought… christmas dinner to be prepared even though my husband had to go work on 1st Christmasday ( yes, over here we have 2 Christmasdays…. ) It had been snowing in the week leading up to Christmas so we had a white Christmas … yep all sorts of little things that make life difficult. I didn’t sew for over 3 weeks and got detox problems… so I started sewing pants for my son last weekend. I also bought fabric online at Hancocks- Paducah in America… still waiting for my 30 FQ’s to arrive. I started sewing a new bag for myself though…. It is the pattern for a chelsy bag from LazyGirl but I have to get me a zipper and some other stuff this afternoon. I plan on going for a shoppingspree this afternoon because my princess needs new pants/socks/undies/pullovers/…. humm everything in essence..lol! the most important news I have to tell you is from the day before Christmas….
On the 24th of December there was a little boy born. His name is Thijs and he is the son of my brother. I haven’t seen the little guy yet because a) we can’t go there because my son has RS. b) with all the snow it is to dangerous to ride down there and go see the little one. c) The gift I am making for him is not even near finishing yet…. see my dilemma here? Do I blog and take pictures or do I start sewing on a “jippy you are born” gift ?
The house needs a good cleaning aswell…. hmm maybe I’d better get of the computer, of my big you know what and start doing something…. c u soon ( I hope )

Last week I started sewing the birthdaypressents for the twin boys of my sister. I decided to make them a pullover from fleece. So I went to Alkmaar city and bought 4 meters of fleece 2 in carrot orange and 2 in bright green. Than it was cut and mix time and I ended up with 2 pullovers that are green with orange accents and orange with green accents. I forgot to take pictures though….. shame on me. But they liked their pullovers and that is what counts! Firts thing my sister asked me: can you make me those pullovers with a zipper please? 4 VESTS to be made than! lol. I am getting payed for those so that is a good thing. I have started to save money to buy me one of these . They are expencive but I realy want one. So I decided to try and make bags and childerens clothings to sell so I can raise some money to buy me one…. yep this is going to be the plan but it will take me years….i know i know…lol
Then somewhere in the middle of that week i got the flue… no not the mexican but the normal season flue…. I felt terrible and had high fevers. than I had to bring my little prince in for his 1st mexican flue shot and he reacted horrible to it. he developed high fevers and became realy ill… i decided to leave the 2nd shot for what it is… we are not going back there…..ever again if it depends on me.
The bag I made a couple of weeks ago is almost finished, only a few hang and closing stuf to be attached and than that is fini as well…
I liked the idea the teacher had ( I made this during a workshop beginning of november ) but in the end I kept on making changes to personalize the endresult. I made a boxed bottom and some closing loops with d-rings. The whole thing is pink/red/white and I used all things that were in my stash anyway. So it realy didn’t cost that much money to make it.
Than after I finaly finished the pullovers last week, I started on the disapearing 9 patch quilt for my pince, I started this quilt when he was only a few weeks old…. he will turn 1 on the 5th of December. It will be a 1 person bedquilt, when he is old enough to sleep in a normal bed the darn dino-quilt will be finished… I hope… lol. It has lots and lots of colors; pink/purple/green/yellow/bleu/orange…. almost every color of the rainbow. I also need to get thinking about something quilty for my sis in law. She is deu the beginning of Jan. andthe little one needs to have something nice to cuddle up in…. just don’t know what… oh well.. it’ll come to me.
Than last friday I went on a surprise tripp to my sister, she turned 40 and didn’t know I was comming over. We had good tasty “limburgse vlaai” and on saturday I went home again ( with a detour because I bought some fleece for the vests and other nice couplons that were half price ). yep… that’s about it. nothing more to tell…. oh wait
This afternoon we ( hubby, princess, prince and moi ) are going to see SINTERKLAAS… google him and find out that the santa claus is in fact: SINTERKLAAS !!!! he gives pressents to little childeren rides on a white horse on the roofs of the houses, he has helpers called “zwarte piet” meaning something like black peter. ( they became black because they have to go through chimneys and there is a lot of black stuff in there ) Sinterklaas only gives presents to nice kids, he has a book with all the names of every child and wether they are nice or naughty…. Do you see the simelarity’s? hahahaha yes, we have Sinterklaas you have Santa claus…..sounds almost the same…. Anyway, we are going to visit him at hubby’s work today and I can’t wait to see my princesses face when she’ll see him… she is a strong believer!
Have a happy Sunday you all!

Everytime it is the same story… I want to blog but think I don’t have much of good interest to tell you…. so I don’t…. Or I am bussy with all kind of RL things…. RL meaning familie, friends, house–> my life besides sewing and crafting ( is there a life besides sewing and crafting???? yes there is!!!!! )
About that RL…. nothing nice to say at the moment…. Last week one of my aunt’s died of Cancer. It braught back lots of not so nice memories indeed… I needed some time to let is all sink in.
I have been sewing pullovers for a friend of mine, have been to a workshop on sewing bags ( that one was realy nice and fun! result will be here later on ) I also have been to the Rotterdam/Ahoy Fabric and yarn market with the “Pullover friend” and bought a lot of rose-fabrics and patterns for sewing quilts and bags ( ofcourse ). With the same friend I went to a fabric market a couple of weeks later and bought fabrics for clothings for my kids.
About my kids? Well… my little girl has lost yet another tooth, its the age you know?! lol…. it sure looks funny though! My little son is trying to crawl on the floor, he does the best he can! he also eats my ears off of my head! He grows and grows and grows! He has now 6 teeth… yes my girl looses them and my son seems to find them and puts them in his little mouth! lol
Anyway….. got to get back to sewing….. or watching a movie… or just doing nothing else than eating cake… it’s my birthday you know and this is the only day in the year that I can do what I want , were I want and when I want !!!!
hugs

As of tomorrow, we will have 1 more little familymember to count… my dear little princess is getting a rabbit for her birthday. She doesn’t know it yet though otherwise she would be overexcited and sick.
Real life is catching up on me lately. Yes I do read a lot of blogs but seam to have turned my back on my own blog. There is just a lot going on in my life at the moment. I have been clearing out and cleaning up my house; Brought a lot of stuff to the second-hand shop so it will get a new life somewhere else. Also a lot of my clothing is packed in bin-bags and ready to be transported to Hungaria. Even my little princess decided that the poor kids in the Hungarian orfan-house could use a lot of her cuddly toys so they too went into the bin-bags and on transport to Hungaria.. Don’t I have a sweet girl or what?
The attic is slowly being transformed into my sewingroom. It is cleared out and all the stuff that is in there needs to find a definitive space…. we went to IKEA and bought cabinets to be used for making my sewing-desk. In these cabinets is space to put my books and magazine’s in. After that, we went to PRAXIS and bought a couple of tabletops made out of sturdy oak. I can’t wait to be able to go upstairs ans sew without thinking of the mess I have to clean up because we need the table for dinner!
Now that I have all my fabrics in 1 spot I can see I have way, way, waaaaaaaay enough fabric to last me at least 2 years worth of sewing. So I think I need to put an end to the buying of fabrics for at least half a year.
I also finaly found my 2 QIF projects I started almost a year ago, had a look at them and decided to make something else…. duhh well it at least means that I am still working on them and not forgetting it at all….
See? that’s why clearing out your house every once and again is good for you… you find your stuff again!
I am trying to read the book the davinci code from D. Brown but I hardly find the time to sit down and read, there is so much to do at the moment!
I love to read though and I realy hope I will get time for myself eventualy after my whole house is ready and done.
Today I bought a new quilt magazine and I like it, maybe I’ll get me a subscription, who knows?!
Oh yeah in my blog absence we went on a short holiday to Germany. We all loved it and even my husband thinks we should go back some day when the little prince has grown a bit. We went to the vinyard erea and ofcourse we bought a couple of bottles with white and red wine. If you ever get in the erea of the Moesel ( river ) go and buy yourself some of those white and red wines, they are fabulous!
Before we went on the trip I tried to find out if there was a quiltshop in town, I couldn’t find one.
Than I found a little shop selling selfmade bags, cousions lavendlebags etc etc . I asked if there was a good shop with quiltfabrics somewhere nearby and the nice woman behind the counter told me the way…. oh how my husband would have wanted her to shut up! lol.
I could not resist and had to have a look for my self.
The shop is in Traben-Trarbach and it’s name is “Handarbeitsstube Trasser “. It is a hobby-shop, meaning there is also other stuff beside fabrics. She has yarn for knitting and crochet, she has all kinds of things and I realy loved being there! The owners are such nice people! If you ever get to this store, tell them I said HI! okay?
As soon as the workbench is up and tested I will show you pictures of what is to become my realm….
Hugs from the Netherlands
